UPCOMING RETREAT
A Compassionate Weekend of
Movement, Music and Meaning ~
for whatever stage of the grieving process you're in.
You may be grieving the loss of a loved one, or a circumstance, or a way of being.
Whatever you're grieving, you are welcome here. However long ago your loss
or unwanted circumstance occurred, you're welcome here.
Your feelings are allowed and honored here.
We'll explore resources and practices that can help support and move grief
through your physical, energetic, and emotional bodies,
with no expectations or pressure to "overcome" your grief.
Walk away with tools to support yourself in your on-going grief journey.
Date: May 14 - 16, 2027

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
(All activities are optional)
~ Sharing / Grief Circles ~
Guided by the work of David Kessler, grief expert
and author of “Finding Meaning”, and who says, "grief needs to be witnessed",
we'll take time to share our stories and witness each other’s grief.
~ Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Practices ~
Guided by the work of Dr. Kristen Neff, author of “Fierce Self-Compassion”,
I'll share simple practices for offering kindness to yourself.
I'll sprinkle in mindfulness throughout the weekend as well, inspired by my favorite mindfulness teachers, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and Thich Naht Hahn.
~ Gentle, Yoga-Inspired Movement ~
Guided by the work of Bessel van der Kolk, author of “The Body Keeps the Score”,
who recognizes that the energies of grief and trauma can get stuck in our bodies,
we'll move slowly and gently with yoga-inspired practices to help release these energies.
~ Listen to, Sing, Move to Music ~
Listening to a sad song can have the same impact on us as a good cry
and a good cry is healing as it releases stress and can elevate our mood.
We'll explore music as a method of expressing and releasing emotions.
~ Spend Time in Nature ~
Nature can be profoundly healing. The colors of nature can settle the nervous system.
The sounds of birds singing help us feel safe. Elohee Retreat Center has a
number of easy to navigate trails through the beautiful woods.
~ Massage and/or Energy Work ~
There will be a block of free time for you to take advantage of
skilled professionals available for massage or energy work, such as Reiki.
~ Bonfire Ritual ~
Elohee will provide a bonfire in their permanent fire-pit. I'll offer journal prompts
and you're invited to release your entry into the fire to transform it.
~ Journaling ~
You'll have multiple opportunities to journal throughout the weekend.
You're invited to write whatever is on your heart or to use the journal prompts I'll offer.
