Yoga Nidra / Yogic Sleep / Guided Meditation

Updated: Jan 16

Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique/practice in which you learn to relax consciously.

It's a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. During the practice, consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. During Yoga Nidra, we enter a state of "dynamic sleep" and can experience true relaxation, which is sometimes more replenishing than a full night of sleep.

The BENEFITS of YOGA NIDRA include:

Deep Relaxation of the Mind / Body IMPROVED: Stress Resistance, Neuroplasticity, Creativity, Focus, Peace DECREASED: Anxiety, Psychosomatic Conditions

INSTRUCTIONS: BEFORE the practice, consider an INTENTION, a Sankalpa, which is a resolution, a determination to become something or do something (meaningful to you) in your life.

This can be something you desire to happen immediately or within the next year.

Turn off phones and computer sounds and notifications so you will NOT be interrupted.

DURING the practice, you lie down, in a quiet private location, (not in your bed), and get comfortable so you can remain still (and awake) for about 45 - 50 minutes.

You may like a blanket over your body to keep you warm, a pillow under your head, a soft cloth over your eyes to block out light, socks on your feet, etc.

A facilitator guides you through the practice by directing your awareness to your breath, through your body, and into various visualizations.

Yoga Nidra can be a profound experience, after which you feel relaxed and refreshed, plus a shift in your psyche can be realized.

The next session is ... TBD
